2008 NATIONAL MEET TO BE HELD IN CANBERRA

"Picnic at Hanging Rock 2008"

The usual suspects turned up with 4 reeks on display, sadly Greg couldn't attend to make it 5.
As was expected it was a huge day out and there were more than 2000 cars and bikes and everything in between on show with a huge public turn out as well.
I would like to thank James for making the trip from Adelaide for the weekend and providing us Victorian's some big laughs and a great time.
It was also great to catch up with Brendan as well (aka the owner of the Pink Eureka!) and those few reek owners who made the trip out to say hello.
Thanks also go out to the Webgoat for going out of his way and getting up before the crack of dawn, so that I could attend, and giving me awesome ride in Dweeby to boot which won't be forgotten in a hurry.
The highlight of the day was when Allan Purvis suprised us all with his appearance on the day! For James, it was like all his Christmas's came at once.
All in all, a great day of laughs, suprises and sunburn, and not to mention ending the day with one of Stuart's now trademarked grass cutting farewells, which was followed by cheers and claps from all around.

Mez.

   EVENT REPORTS

THE EPPING CLASSIC CARS EXPO

Thanks to MARY for the following pics & Report

We had a great day at Epping Plaza, with Rock, Kim and PP, (aka, Paul)

After no sleep Saturday night to get the car there, and arriving 20 minutes late - which meant the Ferrari's had to wait in the car park until we got there - (Eureka 1 - Ferrari 0), we had a brilliant time (except for our horn going off whilst we were driving through the center and the odd family member turning up - for which I apologise for especially to PP!)

It was nice to be inside the shopping center amongst it all, showing the reeks to people who normally wouldn't pay to see a car show. There was definite interest in the reeks shown by the number of photos taken by the public. In fact I was at the Ferrari area for about 10 minutes and didn't notice 1 single photo being taken (Eureka 2 - Ferrari 0) ;-).

There was an assortment of cars including an RC Speedster, Minis, Cobras, Fords and Holdens and the Gogomobile.

A big thanks to PP and Rock for making the trip out.

Mary.

ps. The organiser of the event, has just invited us to next years expo! :-)

Scot's, Stuart's & Paul's Reek managed to make this run
Last year they had over 2300 vehicles on display which included 3 Eureka's. With over 10,000 people attending as well.
If we can get 8 cars to a Melbourne Drive Day, then it shouldn't be too hard getting more than 3 to this show, with the ECCA banner on display as well. Maybe we can hand out some goodies? As we always get a lot of questions about "What kind of car is that!"
Hanging Rock is located just off the Calder Highway near Woodend, which is about 1 hours drive from Melbourne, (depending on where you live), and 1 hour from Bendigo.
To get a good spot you need to be their around 9.00 to 9.30, and if we are attending as a group, we need to enter together.
So I'm suggesting we meet somewhere before the gate, actually the back road in is less congested than the main overpass off the highway, this is the Woodend exit on the Bendigo Side of Hanging Rock.

Those who are going please put your reply HERE (MSN Message Board)

For those who haven't been before - IT REALLY IS A BUZ OF A DAY!
